There are few things as exciting as the first acceptance letter. Disbelief, pride and then terror rumble through you in the space of a few minutes. Will the readers like my characters? Will readers be able to connect to them, and love them like I do? The acceptance letter is certainly thrilling, but the self doubts that follow I could do without.
